My second co-op took me to the other side of Canada to Victoria BC. I spent 4 months working for Sendwithus in their front-end development team. While there I volunteered with Ladies Learning Code and saw a lot of amazing scenery.
My first trip the day I came to Victoria was walk down to Willow's Beach. Yes, literally a ten minute walk from my place. It was wonderful. The sand was soft but the water was freezing in September.
My roomates were a fantastic couple that took me to see a wonderful hiking trail amongst other fun things. They met in Japan and moved to Victoria and got married. They are one of the most genuine and loving couples I know. I was super fortunate to spend 4 months in their home.
At the end of our hike to Mount Douglas was this breath taking view of all of Vancouver Island's tip. Every spot on this peak was a photo op. I especially loved watching the sunset at this point.
Because the Sendwithus office is located literally on the water, my walk to work was picturesque every single day. I got to see seaplanes go by and adventurers in the marina. Victoria also has a house-boat yard where people literally have floating houses.
My mom and brother came to visit me in Victoria and see Butchart Gardens. The gardens have every flower and specifically Dahlia imaginable. We loved the light show at night and the afternoon tea spot. This photo was taken in front of the Empress Hotel part of the Fairmont group.
