I had the opportunity to do co-op in Ottawa for Agriculture Canada.
While in Ottawa I got to visit these lovely sites:
The iconic Parliament Hill in Ottawa was beautiful and crowded with tourists. I called up a friend to help show me around the Rideau Canal, Byward Market and the University of Ottawa.
One of the most beautiful parks on the east coast, Gatineau Park is just on the other side of Ottawa. It is a phenomnal view of lush forest and open fields. I was lucky to go on a work trip with my colleagues at Agriculture Canada.
Paintballing was fun yet so painful I probably wouldn't do it again. Peer pressured into it from all the other Ottawa co-op students, I went along for the "fun". This was a pretty cool picture though. One thing I did learn, it hurts a lot less if the paint ball pops on your coveralls than bouncing off of you.
Spelunking is a real activity where you dive in under water caves. I got to go with a group of outdoorsy Ottawa people who were familiar with Lusk Caves. It was a rainy day but the experience was other wordly. I definitely forgot a towel though, so I spent the two mile hike back to the car leaving a trail of damp leaves behind.
These are my Ottawa friends. I hold a special place in my heart for them because for four months, I spent every weekend doing something fun and outdoorsy with these wonderful people. At least until the snow took away our freedom.
